Following the launch of a five-year strategy to grow tourism in Cork, DesignWorks were commissioned to develop a destination brand for the city and county. We worked with a high-level stakeholder group encompassing councils, local industry and tourism trade to create the new brand, based around Cork's significant maritime history spanning over a thousand years.
Matching the land, the people and their culture with the motivations of visitors at home and overseas, the identity imaginatively embraces the spirit of the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland's Ancient East. At the heart of the brand expression is the name - Pure Cork - intentionally descriptive and evoking a visitor experience that is real, vibrant and refreshing. Pure Cork is grounded in a sense of both the physical place and the emotional experience of visiting the region. It sets out to differentiate Cork from all other destinations; from its location on the haven coast, to the wit and character of its people and the purity of the offer from land and sea.
Pure Cork was presented at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in November 2017. Well received by local industry, excitement levels are high for continued roll-out in 2018.
