Established over 25 years ago, Bord Bia is charged with bringing Ireland’s outstanding food, drink and horticulture produce to the world – enabling the growth and sustainability of producers and driving our reputation at home and abroad. Coinciding with this anniversary, Bord Bia commissioned DesignWorks to deliver a milestone rebrand in 2020.

In a two year-long collaboration we have transformed the brand architecture, visual identity and communications design across the organisation. Working with strategic partners Genesis, we’ve defined the structure of Bord Bia’s brand portfolio and the strategic role and relationships of the operating brands and products and services within it.

The new architecture brings a complex and visually fragmented agency together. By aligning it’s four core services - Growth, Insight, Talent and Reputation under a unified brand identity, each strand of activity helps deepen understanding of the agency’s role, strengthen its reputation and build equity in the Bord Bia masterbrand.

Derived from the topography and palette of our landscape, the brandmark and design system emphasise the point of connection between agency, industry and consumer. The unified proposition and visual identity is supported by a bespoke typeface, Bord Bia Sans (created with Signal Foundry).

Drawing from the character of the new brandmark, the font provides consonance across Bord Bia’s two Sub-brands and two Trustmarks which were refreshed as part of the new architecture.
