Reach Deaf Services

Brand Strategy and Visual Identity
Brand Guidelines

Since 1845, the Catholic Institute for Deaf people (CIDP) has provided education, care and pastoral guidance, striving to ensure that the Deaf community have equality of access and opportunity in all aspects of their lives. DesignWorks were asked to rename and rebrand CIDP, reflecting significant developments within the organisation and broader trends in Irish society.

Through engagement with staff and service users we gained a greater understanding into Deaf culture, working closely with community and Irish Sign Language advisors to ensure that the new name would translate and work successfully in a meaningful way.

The ambitions of CIDP and the experiences of its service users revealed a simple truth about its value to Deaf people – that belonging to a ‘Life Long Community’ enables them to reach their full potential. This in turn became the brand essence and informed the creation of the new name; ‘Reach Deaf Services’.

For the Deaf community and other audiences, including parents and families of Deaf people, the brand stands as a visible assurance of the quality and care they can expect. The visual identity expresses connection, support and progression – reflected both within the community and within the services offered by Reach Deaf Services, which are integral to the Deaf person’s journey through life.
