Shannon International Airport has a proud history as Ireland’s first transatlantic airport and the world’s first duty free. DesignWorks were appointed in 2006 to develop the brand strategy and identity, providing an iconic new expression that helped unify the group and guide their transition to an independent airport.

The identity reflects Shannon Airport’s competitive strengths as an easy-going alternative, with a mark that is friendly and confident, communicating the freedom and simplicity of the travel experience.

We created an identity system flexible enough to meet the demands of a modern international airport, with a bespoke typeface – SNN Airport – designed for use across all communications.

We also provided ongoing support throughout short and medium term roll-out of the identity, to embed a brand that has remained vibrant and contemporary for well over a decade.
